Transparency through human storytelling
Academic Medical Centre Amsterdam

How can we bring hospital departments closer together, inform staff, create a better sense of interdepartmental appreciation, and break the silence around important topics such as mental health?
The Academic Medical Centre Amsterdam’s renowned reputation as a University Hospital was not matched by their ability to effectively communicate internally. Departments were operating in isolation and often growing further apart, rather than working closer together.
To allow the organisation to inform staff about corporate change, gain interdepartmental respect and appreciation, break silence around important topics, and welcome a more open sense of communication within the entire organisation, we set up a large format glossy magazine with stories about staff, patients, alumni, and the history and future of patient care.
As a fresh approach, every story was created by a different writer and photographer, and visual design to match.
